I'm Marc Lemezma, and to the thousands of children I've entertained over the years I'm simply Marli the Magician. For three decades I've been a full-time professional children's magician in Kent, bringing magic, comedy and a lot of laughter to birthday parties, schools and family events across the county and beyond.

How a Boy from Swanley Became a Children's Magician in Kent
My love of magic started when I was seven years old. A magician visited my school in Swanley, and I was one of the lucky children called up to help. I don't remember his name, it was far too long ago, but I have never forgotten the feeling of standing on that stage, apparently doing real magic in front of everyone. That single moment set the course for the rest of my life.
I trained, I practised, and in time I turned professional. I became a member of The Magic Circle, the world-famous society for magicians, and I made magic my full-time career rather than a hobby on the side. Over the years I've performed more than ten thousand shows, and I've been lucky enough to take my magic well beyond Kent, including a booking at Buckingham Palace, where Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II watched my performance and told me, "Very well done." I've been rather proud of that one ever since. That's me at the palace in the picture.
But the truth is, my favourite audience has always been a room full of children at a party in Kent, laughing, giggling and completely caught up in the wonder of it. That's where the magic really lives.

Thirty years on inot my career as a magician, I'm as busy and as passionate as ever. I perform children's magic shows right across Kent and East Sussex, from Maidstone, Ashford and Canterbury to Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks and the Medway towns, and I travel further afield across the South East when needed.
What I'm proudest of is loyalty. Many of the schools, nurseries and playgroups who book me have been doing so for fifteen or twenty years, some even longer. Parents who saw me at a friend's party book me for their own children, and then book me again for the next birthday. That kind of trust isn't won overnight, it's earned one happy party at a time, over many years.
It's a trust that every child in the room feels, even the shyest, and before long they're part of the magic too.

My Philosophy on Children's Magic
People often say, when they see me working, how much I seem to love what I do. They're right, I do. Here are a few thoughts on the philosophy behind my shows.
Magic has been my passion since I was seven years old and I've never forgotten the thrill of standing on that stage, apparently performing real magic. When I turned professional, I made some firm decisions about how I would work, and I've stayed true to them ever since.
Everyone Should Be Included When I arrive, I try to meet as many of the children as I can. Once the show begins, I work hard to bring every single child into it. Sometimes a little one is shy, or a bit wary of the magician. I take real pride in the fact that nine times out of ten, I don't just win that child round, I get them up on stage helping me perform. Some entertainers rush in and rush out. I'd rather spend the time, and it's that care that's built my reputation.
The Parents Matter Too A party is a family moment, and memories are made at these things. While the children are gasping and giggling, the parents can sit back and enjoy the show too, the comedy, and the simple pleasure of watching their child have the time of their life. You can relax. Everything's handled.
To be Positively the Best By "the best" I mean far more than being a good magician. I start with clear marketing and a proper proces to take bookings, add strong material, then build in care, narrative and structure so the whole show becomes something memorable, not just a string of tricks. Every part of it, the marketing, the customer service, the performance itself, gets the same attention.

What age groups do you cater for?
Everyone! I've entertained groups from 3 years old to 103. From around two and a half, children will happily sit and watch, and I always tailor the show to the age group in front of me.
For preschoolers, I keep it bright, colourful and easy to follow. For children four to seven, it's fun, cheeky and interactive, they love to feel one step ahead of the grown-ups. For children eight and over, I mix in cleverer magic, sometimes teaching them a trick, but always with the emphasis on fun.
What magic shows do you offer?
I offer three packages: Marli's Mini Magic Show, the Marvellous Magic Show, and the Magical Mix-Up. You can also add balloon modelling to any show. See them on my prices page.
Do you perform at events other than birthday parties?
Yes! As well as birthday parties, I perform at fetes and fayres, weddings, family parties, school events, store openings and company events. I can even entertain adults with close-up magic. Just ask.
Are you a professional, or is this just a hobby?
Magic is my life, not a hobby! I've been performing for over fifty years, professionally for thirty. I'm a member of The Magic Circle, I carry full public liability insurance, and I'm DBS checked to the highest applicable level.
Do you perform in schools, nurseries and pre-schools?
Yes. Many schools, playgroups and nurseries book me regularly, and some have been customers for twenty years or more.
Do you perform in private homes and gardens?
Yes, indoors or out. I'm always happy to perform outside as long as the weather plays fair. It's worth thinking about wind, rain and strong sun on the day, so do make sure the children have some shade if it's hot.
Do you perform in village halls and other venues?
Yes, all kinds, village halls, church halls, community centres, schools, sports centres, you name it. Many venues ask for proof of public liability insurance, and I'm always happy to share my policy details with them.
Can you perform at our fete or summer fayre?
Yes! I'll mix with the crowds doing magic and balloons, and round off the day with a show in the arena if you'd like.
Which areas do you cover?
I'm based in Maidstone, so most of my shows are across Kent and East Sussex, though I've performed all over the UK. The prices on this site are for Kent, but wherever you are, let me know and I'll provide a price local to you.
How much are your shows?
All great value, with the exact cost depending on date, time, location and package. You can check my prices here, and if you'd like something a little different, just ask.
How do I book, and when do I pay?
Once we've agreed the details of your booking by email, WhatsApp or phone, you secure the date with a deposit (usually £40) by card or PayPal. I'll send a confirmation with all the details, and you reply to agree. The balance is due on the day by cash, card or cheque, or you can settle in advance. Every booking is personally confirmed by me, so you know it's right for your party.
When will you arrive on the day?
Usually twenty to thirty minutes before the agreed start time, so there's plenty of time to set up properly.
Do you need anything from us?
Not much, just a parking space close by, access to a single power socket, a cuppa (tea, white, no sugar please!) and some children to entertain.

I just wanted to put in writing how much Charlie and his friends (and their parents) enjoyed your show yesterday. I was quite worried about Charlie’s attention span – He was enthralled for the whole two hours and told me about his floppy wand (several times) which he said was really funny. I know the other children had a fantastic time too and having been to plenty of other parties, you are by far the best.

The Best We Have Seen!
Just wanted to say a big thank you for making the girls’ 7th birthday party such a success. They had a fabulous time and we have had loads of very positive feedback from all the other guests! Your efforts are particularly appreciated since you were working under what at times I know must have been difficult conditions – late arrival of the food so the meal had not been finished when you arrived, chaotic location etc – but you rose to the occasion magnificently and kept all of the children occupied, amused and thoroughly entertained throughout. We were particularly impressed with the balloon modelling – the balloons did indeed look like what they were supposed to, and unlike every other balloon model that has ever come home from a party, these are still going strong several days later! Hannah and Phoebe’s ‘special’ birthday balloons were especially appealing – the best we have seen. Many thanks again – we will certainly recommend you to other families.
